Ribera del Marco is an longitudinal area with a great potential;
- its privileged location connecting natural and cultural significant points: El Calerizo, the Cave of the Maltravieso, the walls of the Monumental City and general public services as University, Hospital …
Ribera del Marco makes also the city – territory transition.
- heritage value and environmental value with a system of traditional market gardens, of the Mozarabic period, and hydraulic elements (mills, bridges..) supported partially today. Taking part in big landscape systems Vía de la Plata, La Montaña..
- sensory experience : scent, colors, shadows, water..
nevertheless nowadays is disconnected of the city without a content, suffering  pressure of new housing developments and few accessible ways for pedestrians, all of these factors make it be perceived as a back.

Our intervention tries to recover the original Ribera´s ecosystem (such as markets gardens, mills…) and provide a new content – “slow spaces”.  A backbone of “Slow spaces” for the city, related to a new lifestyle, encouraging people to:
-move and connect on foot and by bicycle between parts of Cáceres as an alternative to the car routes.
-take part of sustainable, social and healthy activities (school-gardens, workshops of recycling, ecological market, walks..). Ribera del Marco becomes a great public space / a meeting eco-point that integrates different social groups.

Para completar la revitalización de El Marco, procuramos añadirle contenido compatible, por un lado con pequeñas elementos, reversibles, combinables que configuran espacios públicos y por otro con la organización de actividades que tienen repercusión en un área más amplia que la propia Ribera.

Strategy, the main actions are:
-Citizens should become aware of the Marco importance and make a commitment to traditional uses and the potential of recycling.
-Solving the connection between the Riverside and other city areas.
-Designing a north-south main bicycle path and completing the existing path network.
-Recovering market gardens.
-Artificial “macrofitas” lagoons that treat the water.
-Program Units; consisting on system of 4 fixed standard pieces which can be combined in a Natural organisation way to achieve bigger units.
-Promoting alternative “slow activities”.

El mensaje que queremos enviar a través de nuestro proyecto es el valor de la intervención mínima, que coexiste y revitaliza las preexistencias valiosas (huertas, sistemas hidráulicos…) haciéndolas confortables con los estándares actuales, que fomenta el potencial del reciclaje y la acción ciudadana en los procesos de crecimiento.

Management; all of these actions have a tactical implantation on time that addresses the reality of budgetary limitations and the possibility of changing. They are organized in 3 phases with different percent of participation of public institutions, private agents and citizen organizations in each phase. On the first one public institutions have the main importance and later on the citizen organizations.
